You get hydraulic front suspension on tractors that have it in real life. It reacts when you drive over bumps and rocks, levels the front again when you add weights or implements, and works with different systems for the listed brands.
This is still a beta version, so testing is not finished, especially in multiplayer. If something goes wrong, send the log.txt file. For a multiplayer issue, the log from the host and the log from the player who joined are both required.
Features
- The suspension really works while driving. Wheels move up and down over bumps and rocks, and the links, cylinders and shaft move too.
- Add front weights or a heavy implement and the front returns to the right height automatically after a few seconds.
- The supported brand systems are John Deere ILS and TLS, Fendt, Claas PROACTIV, Terraglide (Case IH / New Holland / Steyr), MF Quadlink, Valtra, Deutz-Fahr and McCormick. Each one behaves in its own way, with some systems softer and some firmer.
- AUTO levels itself, WORK gets firmer in the field or when the front starts bouncing, and LOCKED gives you a stiff axle for front loader jobs or heavy transport. MANUAL lets you raise and lower the front yourself. Just like in real life, MANUAL is only available on JD ILS and Fendt.
- Press
Ctrl+Alt+Uto change the mode. In manual mode,Ctrl+Alt+↑ / ↓moves the front up or down. You can change the controls in the control options. - The mod supports only tractors that have this system in real life, meaning medium and large tractors from the listed brands. Small tractors and crawlers stay as they are.
Changelog
V2.0.0.0
- Use
Left Alt + Uto open the suspension window. It shows the system, mode, height, front-loader stabiliser and live state, plus axle load, weight on the front, cylinders, spring, damping and warnings. You also get a side view of the axle. - The settings and panel are now inside the suspension window instead of the game’s menu.
- Trucks get a new rear air suspension with levelling, ECAS, which supports up to 3 axles. The ride height stays the same when the truck is empty or loaded. You can set a manual height for loading docks and coupling, and above 30 km/h it automatically returns to ride height. 8×4 tippers and bigger still keep their leaf springs. The system can be switched off.
- Levelling appears only on tractors that have it in real life. Brand, weight and minimum power decide this, with a default of 120 hp. Small or simple tractors get a swinging pendulum front axle without suspension instead of the game’s soft suspension. Tracked tractors are left alone.
- Ride Control gives wheel loaders and telehandlers boom suspension with an accumulator above 6 km/h. Under that speed, it stays rigid so you can work precisely.
Ctrl + Uchanges AUTO / OFF. - On tractors, the front-loader load floats along with the movement of the arm tip. The option can be switched on or off in the window.
- When you are on the road above 30 km/h, the damping is firmer.
- The JCB Fastrac now has rear self-levelling suspension.
- A hydraulic valve sound has been added.
- Rigid front axles, for example the John Deere 7030 axle, move and tilt together as one piece.
- Independent suspension no longer shakes, including JD 8R ILS, and switching tractors no longer gives you little hops.
- The panel can show “end stop” and “front too light – add ballast”, as well as the name of the tractor’s system. You can switch the panel off. It hides while the window is open and when Zasty HUD is active.
- Cars, combines and other vehicles are left alone. The shop category is checked.
Ctrl + Uchanges the mode, while holdingCtrl + Alt + Up / Downchanges the manual height, andAlt + Uopens the window.Ctrl + Alt + LandCtrl + Shift + Uwere removed and are now available in the window.- A new installation now receives its default keys correctly.
- Default keys are
Left Ctrl + Ufor Suspension mode, or Ride Control on wheel loaders;Left Alt + Ufor the Suspension window; andLeft Ctrl + Left Alt + Up / Down arrowfor manual height while held. - Those are the default keys. If the game or another mod is already using one, open Options > Controls and set the key you prefer to avoid conflicts.
V1.1.0.0
- Every machine now acts almost like its real version.
- Automatic levelling for tractor classes is limited to tractors that have it in real life. Small and simple tractors use a pendulum front axle without suspension.
- Wheel loaders and telehandlers use Ride Control for boom suspension. Above 6 km/h, the load floats over bumps. Below that speed, the arm is rigid.
Ctrl+Alt+Uswitches AUTO / OFF, and you can also assign the control in the key bindings.- Front loader damping follows the tip of the arm and ignores smooth hills. Its separate switch is
Ctrl+Alt+L. - Road damping is firmer above 30 km/h.
- The JCB Fastrac gets a self-levelling rear axle.
- HUD warnings tell you about an end stop or a front that is too light, with the instruction to add ballast, and they show the tractor’s system name.
- Levelling now plays a hydraulic valve sound.
- The movement is smoother, with no shaking on the JD 8R ILS and no hops when you switch tractors.
- The controls menu received new options in all 25 languages.
- Tracked tractors are left alone.
V1.0.0.1
- Ride Control was smoothed out a bit more.
- On a rigid front axle model where both front wheels hang from one axle, for example the John Deere 7030 Series, the whole axle now moves up or down and tilts with the wheels. Before this, the axle stayed still and the hubs moved on their own. Reported by Cris669.
- Rough ground, such as a ploughed field, could affect performance and bouncing because physics rebuilt the front wheels almost every frame. Now that happens only when the axle moves 2 mm or more, at most every 100 ms.
- The HUD textures are compressed, so there are no more “raw format” warnings in the log. Reported by Patrik Vendelberger.
- The game starts faster now. The settings menu section is built only the first time Settings is opened, instead of freezing the start by ~4 s.
- The log no longer puts rear implements on the front loader line by mistake.
- Hydraulic suspension is used only by the tractor a player is driving. Parked tractors and AI helpers keep the game’s original suspension. Leave the tractor or hire a helper, and it returns to the original suspension.
- Thanks to Cris669 and Patrik Vendelberger for reporting these issues.
